Corfu Adventure: Trek & Swim Combo

This adventure is designed to deliver you the unknown beauty of the well known island of Corfu. We are thoroughly exploring the north part of this unique gem of Ionian Sea. In one week, we combine all the hidden surprises that the limestone mountain and blue sea can offer. Trekking up the slopes of Mt. Pantokrator, all the way to the highest peak and swimming along the endless coast line will be our daily approach!Day 1Arrival Day. We will meet at Agios Georgios of Pagoi bay at the north-west of the Kerkyra island. We will be allocated to our accommodation and then we will enjoy our first group dinner, where we'll talk about the upcoming activities of the week and tailor it to suit the group's needs. Day 2Transfer by mini-bus to the start of the walk. Walking the narrow footpaths among the olive groves all the way to Lakones village where we follow the direction towards the beautiful town of Aggelokastro. After we visit Aggelokastro, we are heading west via remote trails as we meet the beginning of the old Venetian footpath which will gently take us all the way down to the stunning Agios Georgios bay, ready for a relaxing and refreshing swim.Day 3Transfer by mini-bus to the start of the walk. We'll start walking towards the Agia Triada Monastery which is located at 450m elevation, enjoying the views towards Albania and the most north-western Greek islands of Mathraki, Othonoi and Erikoussa. Starting our descent, we pass the quaint village of Nymfes and visit the waterfalls and the surrounding area. Afterwards, we visit the abandoned Monastery of Askitario and the cave of the hermit which are located next to the village. On the final section of our day, we will make our way towards Sfakera village through the footpaths of the slopes of the mountain. A mini-bus will pick us up and transfer us to our accommodation, where you can relax and unwind after stretching your legs all day.Day 4Transfer by mini-bus to Agios Athanasios and start our day with a visit to the convent dedicated to Jesus Christ. Afterwards we will start walking via dirt tracks till the Rekini crossroad, where we enter the western slopes of the mountain Pantokrator. We will start gaining altitude by walking under the tree arches and via the lime stoned footpaths, reaching the village of Vallanio. We then follow the dirt tracks along the olive groves towards the footpaths which will guide us to Sokraki village and cross the woodland which takes us to the village of Spartylas. A mini-bus will pick us up and transfer us to our new accommodation in Kalami bayDay 5Todays an early start. We'll hop in the mini-bus and transfer to the beginning of the walk. We'll start walking and gaining altitude till the beginning of Pantokrator’s plateau and Taxiarchis Chapel with its frescoes and magnificent views. Crossing the karst plateau, we head towards the peak of the mountain via rocky footpaths, under oak trees, along bushes and herbs. After reaching the peak, we will head down towards the village of Old Peritheia and visit the abandoned village which holds the mountainous character. We make our way down and off the mountain by following the footpaths of its north side, all the way to the sea level and the Almyros beach, the northern beach of the island, where a mini-bus will transfer us to our accommodation.Day 6We start walking from Kalami bay and follow the coast line northwards. We pass consecutive little bays with beautiful views towards Albania. The footpath narrows and we find ourselves moving on the coastal outcrops before we reach Agios Stefanos bay, an excellent resting place. After a nice and restful refreshment, if you prefer to extend the walk then you can pick up the footpath again and enter Erimitis natural area or head back to Kalami. Alternatively, you can choose one of the optional activities (not included) that north-east can offer, such as kayaking around the bays or horse riding in Erimitis area! This win-win situation guarantees an enjoyable afternoon for everybody. Day 7Transfer from our accommodation to Corfu Town by mini-bus. Check-in at our hotel and have a free day for shopping/wondering around for everybody. Dinner all together at night and then we will have a night walk in the old town! Get in touch for more details<br /> <br /><strong>What you'll need</strong><br />📋 <strong>Other</strong> - Clothing: Weather is changeable in the mountains or the sea and it can become cool, especially at night, so bring a warmer jacket/fleece. A water and windproof coat is essential at all times in case of the odd shower or quickly changing mountain weather. Also take a warm hat. Whilst walking you may prefer to wear shorts, but carry lightweight long trousers for narrow footpaths where thorny vegetation may scratch bare legs. Also, carry a long sleeved shirt for protection again the sun, and a sunhat. Don't forget your swimming costume and towel.

Equipment: Take a towel, a water bottle, sunglasses, torch and sun cream. You may find trekking poles useful for certain sections of the trek. Take binoculars if you have an interest in bird watching.

Footwear: Well broken-in walking boots are essential for the tour but additionally bring comfortable shoes for relaxing in and evenings.

Luggage: On tour bring one main piece of luggage and a day-pack. <br />

  • Cancel within 30 days of the adventure with no refund.
  • Alternate dates may be able to be agreed at no additional cost, but this is not guaranteed.
