A 2-day course where we will show you how to enjoy your mountain biking in an ethically and environmentally responsible manner. We will show you where you can and can't ride, how to plan a ride using a map and also how to navigate with map and compass to follow your route. We will also cover the legal aspects of mountain biking in and around our mountainous areas.Day 1This course has been designed by and is exclusive to Earthwomble Adventure Sports, you won’t find it anywhere else! The course is the brainchild of Earthwomble owner, Mark, who is passionate about looking after the unique and beautiful landscape that we work and play in and is delivered using the principles of the Leave No Trace Centre For Outdoor Ethics, of which Mark is a Certified Trainer. The day will start with an indoor session where we will cover the following topics. Where we can ride Access and the law Planning a route Interpreting weather forecasts Trail etiquette Damage limitation Conflict management Basic navigation After lunch we will head out for a short ride to look at these topics in a practical situation.Day 2We will meet at a local cafe where we can grab a pre ride coffee and then we will sit down with a map and its over to you to plan the route for the day. You will be given a series of coordinates and its up to you to how we get between them, taking into consideration what you learnt on day 1. Once the route has been planned and I'm happy with it, we wil head out and ride it. Along the way we will stop to discuss the various topics we covered on day 1 and tie everything together.<br /><br /> <br /><strong>Inclusions</strong><br /><strong>What you'll need</strong><br />📋 <strong>Other</strong> - You will need a mountain bike and full riding gear including a small rucsac to carry wateproofs, lunch etc. A full kit list will be sent out once you book onto this course.<br />

Cancellation policy

Custom cancellation policy:

  • Cancel before 31 days of your adventure and receive a 75% refund (minus payment processing fees).
  • Cancel within 30 days of the adventure with no refund.
  • Alternate dates may be able to be agreed at no additional cost, but this is not guaranteed.
