Some recommended trips: <br />Many of the stunning scenes from the Poldark series can be explored across Cornwall and it's a brilliant day out retracing key points. Winston Graham wrote 12 Poldark novels in all over a period of 57 years. He moved to Perranporth from Manchester with his family in 1925 when he was 17. The 1970’s saw the BBC producing costume dramas from the first seven of the Poldark novels and they were a huge success. In 2014 the BBC produced the first series of a new dramatisation of the books - with even more acclaim. The filming of the third series was completed in September 2016. A fourth series was completed in 2018 but was not based on any of the novels. The 1970’s Poldark was filmed partly in Cornwall but a lot of it was filmed outside the Duchy.
