Navigation for Runners - Intermediate

Hertfordshire

In our follow-on course to our Navigation Essentials we will get to grips with micro navigating as well as using a compass. If you have some working knowledge of map reading already and want to take your navigation to the next level, then this is the day for you! It aims to get you navigating competently and confidently in races or for your own enjoyment. With a small group with plenty of one-to-one alongside group tuition you will have the opportunity to really grasp this skill both theoretically as well as practically.
On this workshop you will be taught how to competently navigate in most conditions with a map and compass by a qualified International Mountain Leader and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Assessor. The first part of the morning is based at the Musette Cafe, based in the quintessentially English village of Aldbury. Once you've covered the theory in a classroom environment (which serves the best coffee!) we move onto the trails for a few hours to put everything you have learnt into practice. The course lasts most of the day, finishing around 3pm.
The event is easily accessible, just 40 minutes North West of London by rail or road and there is free on-site parking for all runners. All abilities are catered for at this event and although the workshop is aimed at runners, running is optional.

Inclusions
What you'll need
🧤 Warm Clothing
☂️ Waterproofs
🥤 Drink
