Bushcraft Weekend

Ever fancied sleeping out in the wild? A weekend to remember for young and old(er)!<br />This course will introduce you to the main skills you would require to survive and leave you with a good understanding which, if you wanted to, can be taken further to increase your depth of knowledge and ability.<br />As most things in the outdoors take longer than expected we will be working in groups to ensure topics can be covered efficiently.<br />(<em>Landowner permissions have been granted)ItineraryTopics we will cover over the course of the weekend will include;<br /><ul><li>Your natural surroundings and interpreting them.</li><li>Shelter building using natural materials and tarps, and then sleeping in them!</li><li>Fire lighting including selection of suitable tinder and friction.</li><li>Water, sourcing, collecting, filtering and purifying.</li><li>Safe and efficient Knife and saw use.</li><li>Game preparation, cooking (and eating).</li><li>Natural cord / string making using many different materials.</li><li>Camp gadgets for hanging pans over your fire.</li><li>Natural navigation using the stars, sun and landscape.</li></ul><br /><br /> <br /><strong>Inclusions</strong><br /><strong>Accommodation</strong> - No Frills<br />You will be sleeping in an open woodland and will need your own sleeping bag, mat etc. We can provide some tarps but if you wish to use a small tent you would be welcome to.<br />The is a compost toilet on site.<br /> <br /><strong>What's Included</strong><br />🥤 <strong>Drink</strong> - Tea, Coffee, Hot Choc will be provided throughout the weekend along with milk and non dairy alternative.<br />🧰 <strong>Equipment</strong> - Any tools required for the course will be provided.<br /> <br /><strong>What you'll need</strong><br />🧤 <strong>Warm Clothing</strong> - Loads of layers, best to keep warm even if the weather forecast is looking good<br />☂️ <strong>Waterproofs</strong> - The weather can and frequently does change so please bring waterproofs<br />🥤 <strong>Drink</strong> - Tea, Coffee, Hot Choc will be provided throughout the weekend along with milk and non dairy alternative.<br />⛺ <strong>Camping Equipment</strong> - You will need sleeping bag, mat etc. If you would prefer to use a tent then there will be space for a small one or two.<br /></em>
