A Taste of Norfolk Sailing

Norwich

This is a 'hands on' half day experience for those wishing to sail a beautiful, classic 100 year old Norfolk Half Decker yacht under the safe supervision of one of our Instructor team and enjoy the Norfolk Broads National Park from the water. Step aboard, learn the ropes as you hoist the mainsail and let the wind fill your sails as you set off down the River Bure for a stunning joyride powered only by the wind. Enjoy the sound of water lapping on the hull, take in the beautiful Broadland scenery all around you, the wildlife, reeds, marshes and wind pumps and the peace and quiet of this stunning landscape. Take the helm and the mainsheet to enjoy the thrill of speeding through the water and handling your own piece of Broadland history.
After your welcome and safety briefing we will provide you with a short introduction to your yacht. We will then set sail from Upton Dyke and head north onto the River Bure. Depending on wind and tide we may choose to head north onto the River Thurne or continue west on the River Bure towards towards St Benets Abbey before returning to our base at Eastwood Whelpton in Upton.
National Park Experiences is a curated collection that brings the stories of our National Parks to life. Each experience offers an authentic insight into the landscape and special qualities of a National Park.

Inclusions
What's Included
🍴 Food - Norfolk Cookies (GF)
🥤 Drink - Bottle of Water
🧰 Equipment - Half decker yacht and equipment, lifejackets

What you'll need
🧤 Warm Clothing - layers, sunglasses, hat & suncream
☂️ Waterproofs
📋 Other - Non-slip shoes i.e. deck shoes or trainers
