Colber Bridge

Wild Swimming
Free!

The Stour river is open and stretches out with grassy fields by an elegant white wrought-iron Colber Bridge. The river can be a little weedy and slow at certain times of the year, but it is clean and deep. Perfect for long swims, it is situated just a little way up from ‘Bather’s Island’. The easiest access is to park on Stalbridge lane on the east side of the river and to walk along one of the many footpaths approximately 50m to the river. Alternatively, you can park in Sturminster Newton and approach the river from the west.
