Lower Lydbrook

Wild Swimming
Free!

The whole of this stretch of the Wye all the way to Symonds Yat is swimmable (and indeed many people begin at Symonds Yat before then swimming back to the start point). There is a small car park at this location which is open daily until 8pm that provides good access to the River Wye. As well as being a good starting point if you want to swim down to Symonds Yat, it can also be used as a finish point if coming from Kearne Bridge. If you wade into the river above the rapids, the water is generally calm and perfect for paddling and floating.
