Wain Wath

Wild Swimming
Free!

There's nothing quite like the feeling of standing at the edge of a towering waterfall, looking down into the foaming pool below. This particular waterfall is about 3m high, with a pleasant plunge pool that looks especially inviting on a hot day. The open aspect is lovely, and you can see limestone cliffs in the valley and grassy banks perfect for picnics. Downstream there are some interesting river and rock shapes to explore, and it's great paddling if you're up for it. Accessible by road.
