River Teme, Ashford Carbonel

Wild Swimming
Free!

A swimming spot for generations, there is a rope swing to enjoy and a gravel beach, perfect for picnicing and paddling, shelving into a 3m deep pool. Make sure you use your common sense when swimming here, as it could be unsafe at some times of the year and watch out for the rocks under the rope swing. In the quaint village of Ashford Carbonel, opposite the school, lies a small public bridleway which leads down to a bend in the River Teme and Ashford Carbonel’s ‘beach’. For a free pedicure, stand in teh shallows and wait for little Stickleback fish to come and nibble your feet. Please note, it has recently been disputed whether this area is public or private so please use common sense if visiting this site.
