Bredwardine

Take a refreshing dip in the gentle flowing River Wye by the the old and impressive brick bridge. The waters are shallow enough usually to walk across the river and there is a gravel beach on the west side. There is a slightly deeper pool in the middle but most people come here to take a paddle and sit on the river beach or picnic in the nearby fields just above the river. If you have worked up an appetite, pop to the Red Lion just up the hill. There are some stairs cut into the embankment on the east side of the river by the bridge for easier access to the river.
