Cow Castle

Tranquil, small pool along the river Barle, set amongst wild scenery and grass banks, beneath 'Cow Castle', an ancient hill fort. Easy access for swimmers with stepping stones into beautifully clear water. It is a couple of miles from Simonbath, but to join the 6-mile circular walk, follow the footpath to Pickedstones Farm and down the valley around Cow Castle. For a more accessible spot to get wet in the same river you can park and swim at Landacre bridge.
