Climbing

Rock Climbing is about taking your body out of the normal plane of existence and into the vertical world. Your mind fills with ideas of friction and body mechanics while you solve the puzzle of how to move upwards with the surface you have to hand; truly "dancing to the tune of the rock"..

Forget your perceptions of being strong enough, brave enough or mad enough. Climbing is neither about these things nor are these traits a requirement.

Particularly at the level we offer climbing it is a very safe activity and being safe there is no need to be brave - you know we will look after you. In terms of strength and mobility if you can move around you're all good: friction is the limiting factor not how many pull-ups you can do.

What we do and accessibility
We have loads of options for enabling people with disabilities, for those with sensory or cognitive impairments this edition would suit you best.

The approach is up a mostly grass slope and then a short section of steep hand and feet climbing to the main crag.

Once there we have a range of adaptive techniques and tools to get you climbing including;
Climbing with you alongside
Communicating with you via radio (3.5mm output for hearing adaptions and headsets)
Creating quiet spaces
Effort-reducing belay techniques
Automatic belay systems

If you have a mobility impairment. consciousness limiting condition or heart and lung restriction we have another venue which will suit these needs better based in Ingleton.

Inclusions
What's Included
🧰 Equipment - Waterproofs, safety gear etc

What you'll need
🧀 Warm Clothing
β˜‚οΈ Waterproofs
πŸ₯€ Drink - Bring a cold drink bottle you can transport with you
πŸ“‹ Other - Sun protection + You MUST bring good closed toes shoes .
