Excellent water quality

Thorpe Bay is a sandy/shingle beach that stretches from Eastern Esplanade by Southchurch Park through to Thorpe Bay Yacht Club. The beach is gently sloping with a long tidal range.

The most recent Environment Agency water quality classification is 'Excellent' , based on samples taken from 2021-05-07 through to 2024-09-20.
